Alexander Corcoran

Alex leads preconstruction at MCC and helps lead the firm's new business development, building relationships with private sector owners and developers. When a project comes in, he is the one who studies it, learns what the owner is trying to achieve, finds where MCC fits and builds the price. He works with design teams from schematic design through construction documents to surface cost while it can still be designed around, and stays beside the client as a partner from the first look all the way to contract signing.

Alex does not only price what is on the drawings. He builds the entire project in his mind and translates the cost to build it onto paper, a rare combination of visualization, organization and precision. More than ten years in Boston preconstruction, pricing schools, universities, historic rehabilitations, houses of worship and ground-up multifamily under lump sum, GMP and CM at risk contracts, have given him a pricing basis built from real conversations with trade partners. Every number he puts forward is intentional.

Once a project is won, he sets it up to succeed. He sits with the project manager and superintendent and walks them through how he sees the job going together, so the team that builds it starts exactly where the estimate left off.
